It was a special review of the past year at Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, because not only names of the best employees and the initial company financial results were announced, but the company’s helm was symbolically passed to a new person. The President Wojciech B. Sobieszak, who has managed the company since its establishing in 1990, on January 1 moves to a position of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The Management Board will be headed by Aleksander Wasilewski.
During the Food Bank Gala initiating the Christmas Food Collection, with participation of Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, and his wife, the company CPP Toruń Pacific received the Jacek Kuroń Award for supporting local food banks with Nestlé breakfast cereals.
The gala celebrating 25 years of Toruń-Pacific cooperation with Nestlé and General Mills gathered the most distinguished guests. It was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, the Marshal of the Voivodship, the President of Toruń, and the Chief of the Lubicz Commune. The invited guests, including Dave Clark, CPW C.E.O., and Luc Imbert, CPW Vice-President for Continental Europe, were generous in their praises of the Cereal Partners Poland team. Both its efficiency and the social awareness were emphasised.
During the official dinner Jeff Harmening, General Mills C.E.O., on behalf of the Partners thanked Wojciech B. Sobieszak for 25 years of his contribution to development of Cereal Partners in Poland.
The President of Toruń, Mr Michał Zaleski, awarded the titles of Patrons of Sports to nearly 80 companies and institutions supporting sport clubs in Toruń. The manufacturer of Nestle breakfast cereals, who has been cooperating with the Toruń Cycling Club PACIFIC since 1994, was, of course, one of the recognised companies. The President of the company, Mr Wojciech Sobieszak, received from the President a commemorative engraved medal. The Patrons of Sports Gala was held in Dwór Artusa in Toruń on October 22. Successful starts of cyclists from the Toruń Cycling Club PACIFIC in Poland Championship in track racing and road bicycle racing. At last two national championships, the Torunians won 10 (5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze) medals in total. They were showered with awards from the main sponsor of the club.
15 years ago today, on October 1, 2004, the CPW Central Europe cluster was established, covering 8 markets: Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovakian, Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian. Today, the total sales volume for Nestlé breakfast cereals and cereal bars noted for the cluster amounts to 44 thousand tonnes a year. This result is higher by 10 thousand tonnes than 15 years ago. Mr Wojciech B. Sobieszak is the director of this cluster, and he celebrated the anniversary together with the team managing sales and marketing in the Central Europe (see photo).
More than a half of one hundred questions, a total of 16,5 hours for giving answers, 3 localisations – Toruń, Lubicz and Grębocin, and almost 700 participants divided into 11 groups. These are just basic statistics of this year’s series of informative meetings for Cereal Partners Poland employees, which took place in our company at the turn of August and September. Every meeting always starts with a breakfast eaten together, as befits the producer of cereals.
Jadwiga Emilewicz, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology, presented legal solutions, which now enter into force, facilitating business operations. Mr Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President of Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific (CPP) and Mr Jakub Bąkalski, CPP Financial Director, were amongst businessmen from the region invited to the meeting with Minister.
Together with a team of the Toruń Cycling Club PACIFIC, let's celebrate the recent successes of Fitness cyclists! During press conference, also Robert Wojnar, CPP employee who won a bronze medal in his category at half-IM distance at the Polish Iron Man Championship, received congratulations from Zbigniew Fiderewicz, Vice-President of the city of Toruń, and Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President of Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific.
Carried out in the Cereal Partners Poland factories in Toruń and Lubicz, the Maturity Level Check of the continuous improvement implementation, which is a part of One NCE (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) initiative, produced an excellent result. Both teams reached the 4th level on the five-grade scale of One NCE (TMP & LEAN) implementation.
The Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific won the highest CPW award: the title of the 2018 Gold Market. As highlighted by David Clark, CPW CEO, the Polish team is more and more efficient each year. Last year, the team improved all of the economic indicators on the Polish market. The cereals produced in Toruń are the most desired breakfast cereal products in Poland. In addition, the CPP team in Lubicz, where cereal bars are produced, received an award for almost 9 years without an accident.
For two days, the Cereal Partners Worldwide marketing team has been working in Toruń on a new market strategy for breakfast cereal products on our continent. Naturally, the focus is put on consumers: their expectations, habits, and forms of enjoying breakfast cereals. The workshop started with the presentation of the market situation in Poland and other Central European countries. Wojciech B. Sobieszak, who has been managing the Central Europe cluster since 2004, shared his experiences and market data.
Joanna Rozkosz won the title of the most popular actress in the Torun scene in the last season. As every year, the laureate was chosen by the audience of the Wilam Horzyca Theatre. Besides the Wilam statuette, the winner received a voucher for a trip founded by Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific. The voucher was presented by Wojciech B. Sobieszak, the company’s President, during a gala celebrating the World Theatre Day on Saturday.
The Shareholders’ Meeting entrusted members of the Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific Management Board, acknowledging 2018 financial results. The composition of the Management Board remains unchanged.
Two cyclists from the PACIFIC Cycling Team in Toruń were recognized in the competition for the Athlete of the Year 2018 in Toruń. Czarek Łączkowski, Junior World Champion in individual track sprint, was awarded the title of the Youth Athlete of the Year. Karolina Karasiewicz, who won the title of the Champion of Poland in the women’s criterium championships, was included among the golden ten of Athletes of the Year. The gala took place during the Saturday’s Athlete’s Ball.
The 9th edition of the Marshal Charity Ball gathered 220 couples. This year, the ball’s beneficiaries were nursing homes: the house of Seraphite Sisters in Toruń and Nursing Home in Świecie. The Cereal Partners Poland company joined this noble project. BEO Wojciech B. Sobieszak won at auction by bidding PLN 38,000 for a painting by a 19-century painter, Louis Debras, titled “A nobleman in the stable”. The sum will be spent on wheelchairs, among other things. The company is planning to pass this valuable artwork, which portrays a royal musketeer, to one of the cultural institutions in Toruń.
David Clark, who is the head of the Cereal Partners Worldwide since May, visited Poland for the first time. “What I have seen here made me realize why the history of Cereal Partners Poland is one of the CPW legends,” he wrote, thanking for the invitation. Good 2018 results, wise management of all the organization’s levels, and a team of talented people made a good impression on him.
Satisfaction and pride could be seen on the faces of participants of the annual Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific trade conference. Employees responsible for marketing and sales of Nestle breakfast cereals and cereal bars, together with the whole company, had plenty to celebrate as we achieved record-breaking sales of cereals and bars in the national market. Will we be able to break the record in 2019? We are planning to.
